I tried both 'default-colors -' and 'default-colors' in the lss, and
both gave syntax errors. (Which incidently left the xterm with stty
-echo.) It says the lines must be OBJECT:MONO:COLOR.
I use TERM=xterm.
I'll probably be sticking with-out lss support for now.
