Sounds like there may be environment variables not present in the batch?
Usually if lynx is okay on command line and isn't okay inside a script this is
the place to check.

Also, there should be a win32 2.8.5 version, which may be of help if the
environment is not the problem. There is different table support
selectable at compile time; you don't say if you use a binary distribution or
roll your own.
