Hmm - I see a situation where the extra slash might be provided.
What's peculiar is that this situation (using an environment variable
containing the URL with a trailing slash) was used, before January,
without a single occurance of this error for probably 4-5 years.
Now it seems to generate the error every time - or very close to
100 percent of the time.
However, if I make certain that duplicate / is not present, then
I have a much better percentage of luck getting a response.
Weird - but at least that's a solution I can make use of.
