I recall fixing a bug in the traversal code, and running the current
version seems to work
-rw------- 1 tom users 19511 Aug 31 15:49 reject.dat
-rw------- 1 tom users 102232 Aug 31 15:49 traverse.dat
-rw------- 1 tom users 1296 Aug 31 15:45 traverse.errors
-rw------- 1 tom users 324628 Aug 31 15:49 traverse2.dat
The relevant change is probably
2004-10-10 (2.8.6dev.6)
* remove newline from format in lookup_reject(), fixes a bug introduced in
2.8.5dev.2 which caused traversal reject-lookups to fail -TD
