ftp.freebsd.org (alias MASTER_SITE_FREEBSD) is the "last resort" used when all other mirrors fail. The problem was earlier on:

I am not quite sure if the "Permission denied" error is local or if it comes from the server. Assuming it is local,

% sudo chown -R user:user /usr/mirports/Distfiles

should help you (replace "user" by your user name).
