OK download latest stable from lynx.isc.org (follow links), but I will help you
Direct link to download lynx is:
http://lynx.isc.org/current/lynx2.8.6rel.5.tar.gz

than ungzip it and untar it.

and run
$ ./configure --with-ssl
# make && make install

otherwise to trace some problem with lynx simple run with trace switch
$ lynx -trace
and after that read ~/Lynx.trace

Lynx also comes with documentation which explain all this, but it
'seems' that linux packagers are very evil.
