Lynx tries to run .bat and .exe files with wine.
How to get Lynx to view bat and exe files as text and hexdump?

If this has something to do with system's mime types,
please do provide "what to do?" dialog. I could add text and
hexdump choises for bat and exe in the Lynx config files.

It might be getting the information from the setting for SUFFIX_ORDER
(see the long comment in lynx.cfg). For a quick check, you could set
that to NO_BUILTIN.

I have had serious problems with mime system:
Certain html files were recognized as gmc (something) files,
even the files had .html extension. The solution involved
binary editing of Nautilus exe, because edits of configs in
3-4 mime related directories had no effect at all.
Therefore, any config should happen in Lynx itself.
