Hm, just give configure with the --with-ssl option.  Personally, I use the
same options for both Linux and Windows (Cygwin), except in Windows, I
use --prefix=/usr, so that I won't have to update my path and I don't
use it on Linux so that the stable distro-supplied version won't be
overwritten with the development version I use.  But it links against
the cygssl-0.9.8.dll library and you can browse SSL sites.
