that might be just my error in setting up the site.


That could very well be the culprit then.  The filenames are quite
similar and it could have just been a symlink typo.

yes - I put it together from mirrors and backups.  Currently my local
backup has all of the stuff that's web- or ftp-visible, plus the source/build tree, so it would be more straightforward to restore it
if the server died again.

lynx.browser.org is someone else (I've no control over that).


Good to know.  I always thought it was a bit strange when
lynx.browser.org came into existance as it just immediately points to
the isc site anyway.

as I recall it, it's been around since the late 1990s, around the time
lynx was still hosted on slcc
