        I'd be glad to review the code and check if it still works.

        I should note, however, that the getaddrinfo () function, which
        is quite essential for proper IPv6 support, wasn't actively used
        (or probably even implemented; if at all) these old days, so the
        string to address resolution code may require a respective
        update.
