[Lynx-dev] configuration settings not saved

Using debian, the following version of lynx does not save all settings:

Lynx Version 2.8.9dev.11 (15 Nov 2016)
libwww-FM 2.14, SSL-MM 1.4.1, GNUTLS 3.5.6, ncurses 6.0.20161126(wide)
Built on linux-gnu.

The default configuration file was copied to the normal user home 
directory, permissions changed with 'chown' and edited. Starting and 
viewing an image caused the following terminal output:

Also, it web page showing the image link now disappears from the 
terminal. In previous version, graphicsmagick would open the image and 
the web page would remain visible in the terminal.
