If your version of lynx is built with the proper crypt libraries, it
should Just Work by going to an HTTPS url such as
https://google.com
What is the output of "lynx -version" give? Particularly the first
two lines which give the version of Lynx and the SSL/TLS library
against which it was built such as
Lynx Version 2.8.9dev.11 (15 Nov 2016)
libwww-FM 2.14, SSL-MM 1.4.1, GNUTLS 3.5.6, ncurses 6.0.20161126(wide)
(in this case, SSL-MM 1.4.4 and GNUTLS 3.5.6)
