Monit does not perform any magic on the ABI. Monit simply call (execev) a program or script supplied by you, to start and restart a process. If a process is part of a workflow, meaning that other processes depend on it, monit provide functionality to restart such depending processes in a particular order. In that case, see the section about dependencies in the manual.

Hello All,

Does MONIT support persistency in the processes
monitored by it??

In simple words if a process is a part of a certain
workflow and suddenly the process crashes , MONIT
restarts the process as it was monitoring it , now is
the process restarted from scratch or does it restart
the process from the exact point it crashed i.e. the
process/system variables will contain the same values
as the time when the process crashed.
