Sorry, this is a case of embedded machines with hardware only properly supported by Windows. Cygwin is as close to linux as I can get with these.

Probably of no help but.

If they crash on boot then sometimes bsd works when linux doesn't and
vice versa? Plus OpenBSD is simply brilliant.
