hey!
we have just updated to 5.3.2 and turned on pam auth, now using the web interface everything works perfectly, on the shell however all commands fail:
address@hidden:/tmp/foobar$ /usr/sbin/monit -c /home/protonet/dashboard/shared/config/monit_ptn_node -l /home/protonet/dashboard/shared/log/monit.log -p /home/protonet/dashboard/shared/pids/monit.pid status
monit: cannot read status from the monit daemon
and
address@hidden:/tmp/foobar$ /usr/sbin/monit -c /home/protonet/dashboard/shared/config/monit_ptn_node -l /home/protonet/dashboard/shared/log/monit.log -p /home/protonet/dashboard/shared/pids/monit.pid start all

relvant config with some of my tries to make it work:
set httpd port 2812
use address 127.0.0.1
allow @admin
allow @protonet
allow localhost
allow 127.0.0.1
any ideas on how to make this work? the user calling the script belongs to the groups defined in the config.
Thanks! Ali
