  I'm the maintainer for the fink package of monotone.

The current version builds just fine provided that you set:
CPPFLAGS=-D__unix
LDFLAGS=-lintl -liconv

  How much of that depends on fink's version of boost being in place I am
not sure.

  Could always use the fink version.  :-)

  BTW, this is with XCode 1.2, as 1.5 has problems with c++ code. There's
a brief  description of the problem on fink.sf.net, and a more detailed
description
can be found on the fink-devel archives.
