This has been fixed in mainline, and the fix will be included in 0.24, which
is due out very soon.  With the fix in place, you'd see a warning like the
following:

WARNING: the line '' in your .mt-ignore file caused exception 'Empty
expression' while matching filename 'cryptopp/.deps
/lib3rdparty_a-algebra.Po', ignoring this regex for all remaining files.
