Hi,

I am really new to Monotone.
I installed it on my Debian sarge, customized kernel to try out OpenEmbedded (http://www.openembedded.org).

I was following the instructions given in http://www.openembedded.org/wiki/GettingStarted and got to the point of getting the monotone database, unpacking it and then running monotone like this:

| kachung:~/Development/OpenEmbedded/stuff# mtn \
|     --db=/root/Development/OpenEmbedded/stuff/OE.mtn pull \
|     monotone.openembedded.org org.openembedded.dev
| mtn: doing anonymous pull; use -kKEYNAME if you need authentication
| mtn: connecting to monotone.openembedded.org
| mtn: finding items to synchronize:
| mtn: certificates | keys | revisions
| mtn:        29153 |   36 |      9615
| mtn: bytes in | bytes out | certs in | revs in
| mtn:  742.3 k |   677.7 k |        0 |       0
| mtn: bytes in | bytes out | certs in | revs in
| mtn:    2.1 M |   677.7 k | 1532/2464 | 383/615
| mtn: fatal: std::logic_error: database.cc:1386: \
|        invariant 'I(expected_mid == actual_mid)' violated
| mtn: this is almost certainly a bug in monotone.
| mtn: please send this error message, the output of \
|       'mtn --full-version',
| mtn: and a description of what you were doing to monotone-dev

Output from monotone --full-version is

| monotone 0.31 (base revision: \
|                 1bd1fe1e811dce82bee09b9f0effca3225bd1cee)
| Running on: Linux 2.6.18-a64-3b #1 Mon Nov 27 10:47:42 ART 2006 i686
| C++ compiler: GNU C++ version 3.3.5 (Debian 1:3.3.5-13)
| C++ standard library: GNU libstdc++ version 20050304
| Boost version: 1_33_1
| Changes since base revision:
| unknown

and it was installed from the .deb package in monotone's website.

Willing to help with further debugging, provided the detailed instructions (remember: a monotone newbie on this side)

HTH,
///Pablo
