From time to time people update this with newer stats, but actually we
ourselves don't know much of our users beside what they like to share
with us, so we cannot for sure bring this page up-to-date without that
our users step in and do it themselves.

Correct.

An alternative would be to tag these branch pages somehow nicely so that
only "new" and "processing" are accumulated and the "done" items wander
on some "branch archive" page. Maybe Richard or Lapo can help out with
some ikiwiki knowledge here about proper tagging.
