Which might be annoying, but maybe that was your point.
While it's better to be annoyed than corrupted, I'd much
rather see a don't-modify-any-internal-nmh-state switch.
And maybe even a profile component to enable that by default
when not connected to a tty.
The more we can avoid locking, the better.
