Greetings. I'm an old-time Unix guy who doesn't like all this new-fangled
"web" and "mime" stuff in his email So this problem is probably a
combination of stuff I don't know and stuff I configured wrong.
Somebody wrote me an email: he pgp-encrypted-with-ascii-armored it;
and then he (or something) base64-encoded it, and then it got emailed to me.
mhlist says:
msg part type/subtype size description
57597 multipart/mixed 5193
1 text/plain 0
2 application/pgp-encrypte 12 PGP/MIME version identification
3 application/octet-stream 2968 OpenPGP encrypted message.asc
The actual message has this in it:
(part 2)
Content-Type: application/pgp-encrypted;
name="PGPMIME version identification"
Content-Description: PGP/MIME version identification
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="PGPMIME version identification";
size=12; creation-date="Fri, 03 Feb 2017 14:07:12 GMT";
modification-date="Fri, 03 Feb 2017 14:07:12 GMT"
Content-ID: <address@hidden>
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

(part 3)
Content-Type: application/octet-stream; name="encrypted.asc"
Content-Description: OpenPGP encrypted message.asc
Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="encrypted.asc"; size=2968;
creation-date="Fri, 03 Feb 2017 14:07:12 GMT";
modification-date="Fri, 03 Feb 2017 14:07:12 GMT"
Content-ID: <address@hidden>
Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64

(and lots more base64)
I see the man page for mhshow which says
If none of these apply, then mhshow will check to see if the message
has an application/octet-stream content with parameter “type=tar”. If
so, mhshow will use an appropriate command. If not, mhshow will com-
plain.
but it looks like the "type" isn't there.
Now, I can manually get the text out -- and that's one of the many reasons
why I love and still use nmh. But it seems like there is something
I'm missing, that will enable mhshow to say "Oh, base64 and pgp-encrypted.
I should use the 'gpg2 -d %F | less' command to show this part" and I
can't seem to find it.
Thanks in advance.
