Follow-up Comment #6, bug #40686 (project octave):
I should note that simply changing "set view map" to "set view 0,0" in
__gnuplot_draw_axes__ is probably not an actual solution (at least not all by
itself), because it breaks the "axis tight" graph. If I change my code (the
second example) to "axis equal; axis tight" with this edit in place, the graph
ends up at half size, because "axis tight" cuts the lmargin to rmargin
distance in half. So presumably "set view 0,0" alone isn't fully compatible
with the current method of computing tight margins, and some tweaks or an
alternate approach are required.
