Follow-up Comment #5, bug #55454 (project octave): I've installed the packages as stated in my previous post. The result of the dpkg command is this: dpkg --get-selections|grep octave liboctave-dev install liboctave6:amd64 install octave install octave-common install octave-doc install As for running octave with the additional parameter --norc it works percetly for me too. Maybe is it something related to my ~/.octaverc file? Indeed, I've just deleted this file and solved this issue. What could it be the cause?
