Follow-up Comment #33, bug #53841 (project octave): I think this is still a bug in Qt. We explicitly use copyCollectionFile to copy the help collection to the writable temp folder. And I sure can find that file there, too (oct-qhelp-*). Why is it necessary to modify the original file for this? As a work-around: Can that specific folder be created with write access for all users? If that or another solution is not easily possible, it might be OK if the user had to run Octave as administrator once.
