Follow-up Comment #8, bug #42510 (project octave): I notice that Matlab returns the constructor along with the other methods for both Java objects and classdef objects. For example, x = methods ('inputParser'); any (strcmp (x, 'inputParser')) Also, when using '-full', the list of methods is returned sorted in Matlab.
