Follow-up Comment #21, bug #56151 (project octave):

Closing the loop, if I add these two commands to my .inputrc file


"\e[A": previous-history
"\e[B": next-history


then up/down arrow fetch the previous/next history line without searching.

Anything more to be done for this report?
