Sounds awesome. When do we get to something in action?

Subject: [Openvds-devel] Perl+GTK admin client.

Hi all,

Here's a brief of what i'm implementing (on the client and server)

First of all, the software i'm developing is for testing purposes, once
it
has been tested and some feedback is sent, i think the real thing will
start.

The client does not interact directly with the VSD daemon, why ? for
security reasons. This first version will communicate to a sub-daemon on
each virtual server that will be running on inet mode (xinetd), which
then
we can configure the wrappers to alocate access from specific networks,
or
even open it widely, but whatever is done through that sub-daemon will
affect only that virtual not the whole server. I asume that the VSD
daemon
is running and listening request to only the ips part of the host that
are
being (or will be) used as virtual servers.

The sub-daemon autenticates the admin (client) and the subset of
commands and
parameters which in turn sends fixed strings to the VSD daemon.

The first phase of this project will provide a set of commands that the
VSD daemon uses in order to affect a given virtual server. The 'host'
administration (such as virtual creations and so on) i leave it to the
host command line (by now).

The virtual admin using this client will be able to do basic
administrative tasks (add/remove users, permits, quotas, etc) all of
them related
to the specific virtual the client will talk to. In the near future some
extended
commands. My intention is to use the current existing Webmin modules and
adapt them splitting the interface to the client and the file system
management
to the sub-daemon.

Any comments or suggestions are appreciated... :)

Regards,
