I think there are two problems with this one:
1. Parts of the image have insufficient contrast. (eg the top bit)
Maybe the bits outside the box could be drawn in outline, and the
bits inside drawn solid?
2. The GNU lettering might be too small. How about making it vertical
down the left hand side?
These problems could mean that, if the logo is reduced to logo size,
printed out in black and white, and then photocopied a couple of
times, it'll become unrecognisable.
