Ben,

FYI: I have stopped working on the port.

I got the 

   ntpython setup.py build --compiler=mingw32

to build without any errors, but when I try to "import C", it still does not 
work.

I will try to continue to poke at this in the background, but I will not be 
working on it very actively.

Independent of Win32, I am still interested in using rdiff-backup, but for now 
I need the ACLs supported before I could put it to production use.
