[rdiff-backup-users] Assertion Error rdiff-back 1.1.9

Dear All

I currently backup a set of directories to a remote server. After working
fine for 9 months, I've found that I'm now getting errors (possibly since I
upgraded to 1.1.9?):

Sending back exception  of type exceptions.AssertionError:

This from the backup.log file on the remote machine.

I had downgraded from 1.1.9 to 1.1.7 to try and resolve the problem,
but the error persists.

Any suggestions ?
