What will happen if the same rdiff-backup sources and destinations are
used by two simultaneously running backups? E.g. if there is an active
backup from /home/ to /media/external, what will happen if I try to do
another simultaneous backup from /home/ to /media/external ? Will any
form of lockfile prevent this? If not, will corruption result? I ask
because it appears I have ran a manual backup while cron was doing one
in the background. Now, when I try to run the backup, I get the error:

Previous backup seems to have failed, regressing destination now.
Regressing to Fri Aug 10 03:40:36 2007
Fatal Error: No metadata for time Fri Aug 10 03:40:36 2007 found, cannot
regress
