Hi SanskritFritz, You get the exact same error? There could be more than one Makefile.I don't know the source you are trying to build so can only give general compile advice. I run Debian stable(64bit)+testing(32bit) so I could try to compile it here but you are best talking to the guys/gals that know the code. If you still don't get any reply from them email me directly so we can get off the rdiff-backup list.
