[rdiff-backup-users] windows backup to samba server

Subject: [rdiff-backup-users] windows backup to samba server

I have successfully been using rdiff-backup for backing up a windows
directory to a samba share on a linux box for more than a year. Since a
month or so the backup does not work. It seems that for some reason one of
the temporary files (high_perms_file) on the samba share is created with the
permissions set to 0544 which means it's not readable for anyone. The other
files in that directory gets the permissions set to 0744.
When the problem occured I upgraded to version 1.3.3 on the windows box but
it did not make any difference.
Please see the log from windows:

C:\>rdiff-backup.exe -v5 --print-statistics C:\UNI_BAS

The only changes I'm aware of is that I upgraded the network to Gbit
capacity and that the samba server might have been upgraded automatically at
the point in time when these problems occured.
