[rdiff-backup-users] Strange problem with backup to an AFS volume

Hello,

I have a problem backing up my home directory to an AFS volume. The
problem appears when backing up the ~/.ddd directory (among others),
which looks very innocent:

Running rdiff-backup with

$ rdiff-backup -v10
--no-hard-links /home/florenz/.ddd /afs/tu-berlin.de/<..>/florenz/dot.ddd5

works fine but

$ rdiff-backup -l /afs/tu-berlin.de/<..>/florenz/dot.ddd5

strangely gives:

Fatal Error: Bad directory /afs/tu-berlin.de/<..>/florenz/dot.ddd5.
It doesn't appear to be an rdiff-backup destination dir

The content of the destination directory is:

The rdiff-log is attached to this mail.

I experience the problem with v1.2.8 and v1.3.3. The problem does not
appear when I back up to my local disc (ext3fs).

Any help is very much appreciated, if further information is necessary
to trace the problem, I will try to give it.
