The author said it was switching to the modified BSD license since his 
original license and it were almost alike. It was confusing to see that 
he selected GNU GPL version 2 or later and adding his comment on it.

I find that annoying too. Before you get extract a tarball it is best
to see what is inside it.

use 'tar tzf tarball.tar.gz' or 'tar tjf tarball.tar.bz2' to see.
