reattach doesn't work (any more)

Hi,

reattaching to screen doesn't work any more. If I detach a session
I can'r reattach, neither with -RR nor with -r pid.tty.host.
This worked previously, but actually I can't say when it broke.
I've the latest screen from cvs here which doesn't work.
screen as it comes with debian unstable

Screen version 4.00.02 (FAU) 5-Dec-03

DOES reattach.

Did anyone experience similar problems?

The screen main process (with debuggin enabled) shows something like
