Hi,

I've been hesitating in replying to this point, because I am no C programmer. But I faced the same problem with printing and made these changes to the ansi.c module (I have version 4.0.2 so your line numbering may be different), which seems to have fixed the issue:

       case 'i':
 if (!printcmd)                                   <---- added this line
  AddCStr(D_PF);                     <---- added this line
         curr->w_state = LIT;
         PrintFlush();
         if (curr->w_pdisplay && curr->w_pdisplay->d_printfd >= 0)
           {
             close(curr->w_pdisplay->d_printfd);
             curr->w_pdisplay->d_printfd = -1;
           }
         curr->w_pdisplay = 0;
         break;

   curr->w_pdisplay = display;
   curr->w_stringp = curr->w_string;
   curr->w_state = PRIN;
   if (printcmd && curr->w_pdisplay->d_printfd < 0)
     curr->w_pdisplay->d_printfd = printpipe(curr, printcmd);
  else                                         <---- added this line
  AddCStr(D_PO);                            <---- added this line
 }

   else if (display && curr->w_stringp > curr->w_string)
     {
 /*      AddCStr(D_PO); */             <---- commented out this line
       AddStrn(curr->w_string, curr->w_stringp - curr->w_string);
 /*      AddCStr(D_PF); */                   <----- commented out this line
       Flush();
     }
