Seems to work OK here:

$ echo '^[(0 q w e r t y u i o p } { a s d f g h j k k l z x c v b n m ^[(B'
 ─ ┬ ␊ ⎼ ├ ≤ ┤ ␋ ⎺ ⎻ £ π ▒ ⎽ ␍ ° ± ␤ ┘ ┐ ┐ ┌ ≥ │ ␌ ┴ ␉ ┼ └    (¹) (²)

$ echo ' q w e r t y u i o p [ ] } { a s d f g h j k k l z x c v b n m'
 q w e r t y u i o p } { a s d f g h j k k l z x c v b n m

$ locale
LANG=en_US.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="en_US.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

$ echo $TERM
screen-256color-bce

xterm.......................... XTerm(235)
gnu/screen..................... 4.00.03jw4 (FAU) 2-May-06
ncurses/terminfo............... 5.7+20081213-1

(¹) Hopefully will display OK your end.

(²) The slots that correspond to r, o, p, s, are displayed as spaces but that's
    because the terminus font does not have the corresponding glyphs.
