Robert, I highly recommend using a different framework for ABMs. Swarm is hard to use, pretty much abandoned, and no longer supported.
If you are new to ABMs, I'd recommend NetLogo. It's easy to learn and can be used to make quite sophisticated models.

Hello,
I am new to ABM and wanted to use the Swarm software for a research project, and I have tried to install the gcc-4 binary package on my mac.
According to the readme, the release was written for MacOS 10.4 (Tiger). I currently have macOS 10.12.6 (Sierra) installed on my computer, and the binary seems not to install there. Is there any other version of the software package I could use or do I need to instal Swarm from source?
Thank you and best wishes
Robert
