Dear Kent,
I'm excited to read about your progress regarding moving wp-mirror to Wheezy.
Regarding some of your points:
1.3) Though the --gui option is really pretty and a value add, as
long as the --text option works all is good IMO. Obviously, if you
can hurdle that issue please do it. I just know that when I remote
into a server I tend to use the console and the --text option and the
tail -f /var/log/wp-mirror.log command are what I use.
1.4) I too noticed innodb is now built in and the default in mysql 5.5.
I personally would have made use of a --restore-defaults option during
some of my work with wp-mirror. That said, I would put a warning in
the usage statement about the scorched earth nature of the option.
1.7) I've noticed issues when wp-mirror 0.3 runs the mediawiki
maintenance scripts if I don't revert LocalSettings.php to not include
the LocalSettings_wpmirror.php code. LocalSettings_wpmirror.php may
need some way to detect if it's being accessed from apache or being
used by a maintenance script.
2) I went ahead and dropped both the enwiki and wpmirror databases to
start from ground zero. Everything ran fine, but I'm still left with
an enwiki.pages table with only 1 row. I haven't looked into it
further. I'm wondering if turning off the image download and image
verify flags is causing a problem.
Continued good luck on your progress.
Best,
-Ben
