Did you compile with hamlib support?

make clean
./configure --enable-hamlib
make

You will only get the dockable widgets with hamlib support and the 
optionmenus for band and mode will be turned off, because hamlib needs 
an editbox to fill in frequency and mode.

To speed things up for you, we could meet on IRC sundayevening, let's 
say between 20 and 23 GMT....
