I have just uploaded a new snapshot for GNU Aspell. You can find it at:
http://savannah.gnu.org/download/aspell/aspell-0.50-20020815.tar.gz
This is the last snapshot I plan to release before the official release of
GNU Aspell 0.50. So, let me know if you have problems with it. I _hope_
to release Aspell 0.50 by the end of next week.
The main reasons for doing this release is so that I can officially retire
the old Aspell/Pspell combination, to get GNU Aspell into the next version
of various GNU/Linux and other free operating system (such as FreeBSD),
and to generate publicity for GNU Aspell by creating a press release for
GNU Aspell 0.50. With a few exceptions it should be at least as
functional and stable as the old Aspell/Pspell combination. The main
exception is that there will be no ispell module for GNU Aspell since
Kevin Hendricks yet to be integrated affix code should make the need for
Ispell obsolete. From an end-users standpoint GNU Aspell also has a few
minor enhancements over the old Aspell/Pspell combination such as the
ability to use Ispell key bindings when checking documents.
As a side note, RMS has given me the all clear to use Kevin Hendricks
affix code. Now someone just needs to do the work.
