I’ve worked a little on error parsing before and I was extremely
afraid of breaking things.  I would have really liked a large test
suite to make sure I didn’t introduce some regression.  Something
produced with different binaries (pdftex, luatex, etex), with all
relevant options (at least -file-line-error-style), different
distributions (TeX Live vs MikTeX at least), different packages, etc.
Unfortunately, I don’t have time to work on error parsing right now, 
and when I do have time I’ll probably have forgotten about it.  :-/

Maybe just soliciting output buffers from people would give a large
enough corpus.  It wouldn’t even have to be part of the AUCTeX
repository.  Someone (you can probably talk me into it), could set up
a repository on github (or elsewhere) and start collecting output and
slowly work on scripts.
