I got curious and asked on the mercurial mailing list. Here are their

Git will accept patches produced by hg export / email.

@Uwe: I would also urge you to look into the patchbomb extension which
provides the email-command:
https://www.mercurial-scm.org/wiki/PatchbombExtension

After setup, it is very convenient and nicely automated.
