    news: we are going to drop 'cygnus' soonish
    
    * NEWS (Future backward incompatibilities): Support for
    "Cygnus-style" trees (so far enabled by the 'cygnus' option)
    will be deprecated in the next minor release and removed in
    in the next major release.
