automake -vs- BSD make

Could somebody with access to the BSD make please try the current cvs
automake and report back?
I've tried to implement support for `.include'. I think it works, but
of course I'm not copmletely sure.
This new code does rely on `MAKE' being set at configure time to the
make that the user plans to use at build time. We've avoided this for
a long time, but these days I think it is ok. We already do this for
AC_PROG_MAKE_SET.
