Going back to your original post,
http://opendefinition.org/software-service/#applying-the-definition-some-examples
definitely needs updating, if only because one of the examples
(Swivel) is defunct AFAIK.

I made a start of updating that part of the page at
http://opendefinition.okfnpad.org/ossd-examples and encourage others
to help.
