[avr-gcc-list] programing mode failed

Hi,
I just started using the STK500 kit, with AT90S8515, 
programing with AVRStudio 3.20, under WinXP. When I try to 
programme the device, this message appears in the history 
window:
...
Entering programming mode...FAILED!
...
I use parallel programming mode, internal oscilator and 
internal target voltage. I connected the pins: prog ctrl to 
portd and prog data to portb.
What should I do to avoid this error?
