[avr-gcc-list] Is there any detailed descriptions on the whole toolchain?

Hello,
    Last time I touched AVR was two years ago, when I developed a data
acquisition system based on AT90S8535 under linux with avr-gcc,
avr-gdb, simulavr, uisp and AVR910 serial programmer.
    But now, my supervisor asked me to upgrade the system and add many
new funtions into it, which demands ATmega8535.  As a matter of fact,
I need to upgrade all my toolchain from gcc, libc to uisp.
    The problem is, I can't find a good description on the toolchain
to guide me, even avr-gcc has no official website.  So, any one could
help me?  Thanks.


I am using gentoo which is up to date.
