[avr-libc-dev] eeprom pre loading

Hi
I have been using avr gcc with avrdude for last few days and it is 
awesome.I am new to avr but using 89c52 and linux for some time.
One thing I find missing is how to write files so that .ee.hex file is 
made. My .ee.hex file is always empty. What is that file use for and can 
it be used to pre load eeprom.
